Cookie Policy
Last updated: May 20, 2026 · Applies to: adaguard.io
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They help the site remember your preferences, keep you logged in, and understand how you use the site so we can improve it. Some cookies are essential for the site to function; others are optional and can be disabled.
2. Cookies We Use
The table below lists every cookie set by adaguard.io, including cookies set by third-party services we embed.
Essential Cookies
These cookies are required for adaguard.io to function. They cannot be disabled. They do not track you across other sites and contain no personally identifiable information.
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| session_id | Keeps you logged in to your ADAGuard account. Stores an opaque session token — never your password. | Session / 7 days (Remember Me) | httpOnly · Secure · SameSite=Strict |
| X-CSRF-Token | Protects API requests from cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks. Sent as an HTTP request header, not stored as a browser cookie. | Per-request | HTTP Header |
Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics (cookieless page-view data — page path, referrer, country, browser) and Google Analytics (GA4) to understand site traffic and behaviour. Google Analytics sets browser cookies. Neither service shares personal data with third-party advertising networks. Both are only loaded after you click Accept in the consent banner (see Section 4) — rejecting disables both.
| Service | Data collected | Cookies set? | Provider |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vercel Analytics | Page views, referrer, country, browser (aggregated, no PII) | No | Vercel Inc. |
| Google Analytics (GA4) | Page views, session duration, approximate location, device/browser, on-site events (aggregated) | Yes — _ga, _ga_2JC5HQGFNC (up to 13 months) | Google LLC |
Third-Party Service Cookies
Some pages on adaguard.io interact with third-party services. Those services may set their own cookies subject to their own privacy policies.
| Service | When active | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare | All pages (network security, CDN) | cloudflare.com/privacypolicy |
| Dodo Payments | Checkout and billing pages only | dodopayments.com/legal/privacy-policy |
| Google (OAuth) | When you choose "Sign in with Google" | policies.google.com/privacy |
3. Why We Use Cookies
- 1Authentication: Essential cookies keep you securely logged in across page loads without re-entering your password.
- 2Security: CSRF tokens protect your account actions from cross-site attacks.
- 3Analytics: Aggregate page-view and behaviour data (via Vercel Analytics and Google Analytics) tells us which pages are visited and where users encounter friction, helping us improve the product. Only loaded after you accept the cookie banner.
- 4Performance: Cloudflare uses cookies to route your requests to the nearest server and to identify traffic patterns that indicate bot or DDoS activity.
4. How to Control Cookies
Cookie consent banner
On your first visit to adaguard.io, a consent banner appears at the bottom of the page. Clicking Reject disables both Vercel Analytics and Google Analytics — neither will load. Your choice is stored in a cookie (scoped to adaguard.io and its subdomains, one-year duration) and respected on all subsequent visits, including on app.adaguard.io. You can change your preference at any time by clearing site data in your browser (see below).
Browser cookie settings
All modern browsers let you view, delete, and block cookies. Note that blocking essential cookies will prevent you from staying logged in to adaguard.io.
5. Do Not Track
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. ADAGuard currently does not respond differently to DNT signals because there is no commonly agreed-upon interpretation. We recommend using the opt-out method in Section 4 if you wish to disable analytics tracking.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when we add new features or integrate new third-party services. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of adaguard.io after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
